INFO:
Isopods are a type of land crustacean, and require humidity to exchange oxygen. As such, it is recommended to house them in a set up that is moist on at least one side (wet/dry side) so that they can regulate themselves as they please. Sphagnum moss, leaf litter, decomposing wood, good soil are all recommended as isopods mostly consume decomposing matter in nature.
They can be placed directly into an enclosure or you can “seed” a culture (a 6qt tub is fine to start) and then pull from that as needed.
