Wax Worms
Wax Worms (Galleria mellonella) are the caterpillar larvae of Wax Moths. They are a favorite treat of many reptiles, including: Bearded Dragons, Anoles, Chinese Water Dragons, Chameleons, certain Geckos, and more.
Due to their high fat content, Wax Worms are recommended more as a treat, than a staple item. They are great after female retiles lay eggs, and for picky or underweight reptiles.
Wax Worms can be safely refrigerated. They will go dormant. We recommend taking them out of the refrigerator 30-60 minutes prior to feeding them off, so they can warm up and become active again. This will ensure a good feeding response from your reptile, and aid in digestion. Uneaten worms can be returned to the refrigerator. Wax Worms live in and eat their bedding, so you don't need to worry about gut loading them.
